FCPS Announces New Partnerships

One is with Asian-American Center of Frederick.

Frederick, Md (KM) The Frederick County Public School System has announced two new partnerships. One is with the Asian-American Center of Frederick.

Officials say the School System and the Center will develop and sponsor programs for at-risk students. Also, School System staff will have better access to information materials and other resources specifically designed to  help students and families in need.

“AACF appreciates the opportunity to collaborate with our professional language and cultural resources and build a better community with this partnership,” says Elizabeth Chung, the Executive Director of the AACF.

The second partnership is with the Holly Hills Country Club. The School System says it will provide a venue for events such as administrative and professional development sessions, which often can’t be held at local schools because they are unavailable.

Throughout the year, the FCPS says it hosts several community events aimed at supporting student achievement, according to a statement. It says the Holly Hills Country Club will provide “a superior venue” tor these activities, and it’s located near downtown Frederick. As an example, last year, the School System says invited community and business leaders to meet and learn about FCPS projects and programs for students and their families. Annual event that support the FCPS staff include Teacher of the Year recognition and retirement celebrations.

“FCPS is grateful to partner with the professionals at Holly Hills,” says Michael Doerrer, the Director of Communications and Community Engagement, in a statement. “We look forward to having a modern, attractive and convenient space for our community engagement events.”
