Myersville, Md (KM) Construction will begin on a public library for Myersville. Groundbreaking took place on Monday for the new facility which is expected to be completed by next summer.
“Frederick County residents love their libraries,” says County Executive Jan Gardner, in a statement. “Libraries are more than books. They are building communities. I am proud to deliver on a promise to Myersville for their own community library.”
The 7,000-square-foot library will be located at the site of original Myersville town hall on Harp Place. The building will also have space to display one of the town’s original trolley cars, Trolley Number 150.
“Frederick County Public Libraries is thrilled to begin building a library for the Myersville community,” says James Kelley, Director of Frederick County Public Libraries, in a statement. “I’m confident our new library will be a destination for the people of Myersville and the people of Frederick County. As we do with each of our libraries, the new library will offer programs and services that enable customers to connect with us, with our partners and with each other.”
