Reward Offered For Information In Frederick County Homicide

The victim’s body was found in October, 2017.

Frederick, Md (KM) There’s a reward for information on a Frederick County homicide. Metro Crime Stoppers is putting up $2,000 for anyone who has information that could lead to an arrest and charges filed in connection with the death of Gennady “G” Errigo, 19, of Walkersville.

“The reward is being offered because sometimes that expedites  the whole crime solving process. And in this case, this has been one of those homicide investigations that we really have a hard time getting public assistance in identifying who was responsible for this young man’s death,”: says Elena Russo, spokeswoman for the Maryland State Police.

Errigo’s body was located  by two hunters on Sunday,. October 22nd near the Discovery neighborhood in a wooded area in the 9300 block of Old Liberty Road. “Errigo was found with obvious trauma to his body,” says Russo. “Police are looking for  any leads that might have them get closer to solving this case.”

She also says Errigo was seen a few days before in the Discovery neighborhood on Thursday,October 19th. “Police believe he was wearing gray sweat paints, brown boots and black shirt tied around his waist,” says Russo.

Anyone who has information which could help in this case is asked to contact Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-2587. Calls will be taken at this number 24-hours a day. They can also submit their tips  by downloading the P3Tisp APP, or go line to www.metrocrimestoppers.org.

“Our investigators believe that when they’re a cash award put up that some people may think ‘maybe I can make a different in the lives of the family of Mr. Errigo, and actually get rewarded for coming forth with some information,'” says Russo. “We do believe it will expedite the process of solving a crime sometimes when a cash reward is offered.”
