Two Vehicle Crash Causes Haz Mat Spill

The roadway was closed for more than two hours.

 

Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick Police continue to investigate a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon which led to a chemical spill.

Shortly before 5:00 PM,  officers responded to the collision between a tractor-trailer  and an SUV which  occurred in the area of Monocacy Boulevard and Laurel Wood Way   Both drivers were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities say the roadway had to be closed for about two-and-a-half hours because of a hazardous materials spill. Fire and rescue crews were able to clean it up.

Police say no charges have been filed at this time.
