Get To Know Phil Dacey

The republican is running for a Frederick County Council At Large position.

Frederick, Md. (DG) – Transporation relief, reducing taxes, and economic development. Those are the top three priorities that Phil Dacey will be focuing on if elected to the At-Large seat on the Frederick County Council.

Dacey was a Frederick City Alderman for four years, and explains why he is running for this office.

“Frederick County Council needs to have a change, I think the (Frederick County) government needs change, it’s something I’ve heard from a lot of voters. We need a council that is going to be able to accomplish things for the citizens, not just bicker and fight amongst themselves. The council gets paid to do a job, I think they need to be focused on issues that matter, important issues like growth, transportation, taxes, and infastructure for the people of Frederick County,” Dacey said.

Dacey, along with Republican Danny Farrar, and Democrats Kia Hagen and Susan Jessee-Reeder, are all vying for two Frederick County Council At – Large seats.

Dacey said he will be an effective leader.

“I think somebody is going to partner with Governor Hogan to actually build over on his roads plan, and he’s put forth a transformative solution for roads that incorporate Frederick County and (Interstate) 270, he’s talking about an expansion of 270; the first time that Frederick County would see some traffic release in the (near) term,” Dacey added.

Dacey said while a Frederick Alderman, the board made record investments in transporation projects, and phased out the business-personal property tax.
