Fire Heavily Damages Home In Allegany County

Damage comes to $100,000.

 

Cumberland, Md (KM) Several pets perished in a house fire in Cumberland on Saturday night.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says fire fighters were dispatched shortly after 9:00 PM to the 11,215 Kansas Avenue for a two-story, wood frame home on fire. They spent ten-minutes bringing the flames under control. No one was injured.

Damage is estimated at  $75,000 to the structure, and  $25,000 to the contents.

The Fire Marshal’s Office says the fire originated on the front porch, but the cause remains under investigation.

A total of eight occupants were displaced. They are being assisted by the Red Cross.
