Frederick, MD (KK) – A 20-year-old Frederick man pleaded guilty to participation in a criminal gang Thursday. Jose Castellano will spend seven years behind bars.
In December of 2016, Castellano was caught on camera shooting someone in the foot. Castellano was arrested in February of this year in Hempstead, New York. A gang analyst with the Frederick Police Department identified him as a member of the 18th Street gang.
Prosecutors say the shooting was related to an assault that happened two days earlier between 18th Street and M-S 13 gang members.
Castellano has an ICE detainer and will be deported back to El Salvador after serving his sentence.
