Stabbing and Robery in Urbana

 

A Frederick man was stabbed and robbed early Friday morning in Urbana

 

Urbana, MD- (RD)- At approximately 1:28 am, Friday morning, Emergency Communications received a call from an adult male indicating that he had been stabbed as a result of an altercation with another individual and was located at the intersection of RT 355 and Worthington Blvd in Urbana. Deputies arrived and located an adult male, identified as Sean Michael McGrath, 18, of Frederick, with a stab wound to his abdomen and began medical treatment until EMS arrived.

A preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim was approached by an unknown black male between the ages of 16-19 years of age displaying a knife and demanding money. A struggle for the knife resulted in Mr. McGrath being stabbed. The assailant then took cash from his wallet and fled the scene on foot on RT 355 towards Campus Drive. A knife was recovered from the scene. The assailant was not located. The victim was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma for treatment of his injuries. Mr. McGrath is listed in Stable Condition.
