Frederick, Md. (DG) – A flood warning has been issued for the Monocacy and Potomac Rivers in Frederick County, MD.
The flood warning for the Monocacy River continues until Tuesday. The river is expected to continue rising to near 19.6 feet by this morning, and fall below flood stage late tomorrow. At 20.0 feet, water reaches Gambrill Mill on the Monocacy National Battlefield.
The flood warning for the Potomac River continues until Wednesday. Flood stage is 16.0 feet. The river is expected to rise above flood stage by this afternoon, and crest near 18.7 feet by tomorrow morning. The river will fall below flood stage by Wednesday morning. At 18.0 feet, water approaches the Brunswick campground.
