Attempted Abduction Under Investigation

Police say it took place Wed.along Hillcrest Dr.

 

Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick Police are investigating an attempted abduction.

Authorities say at around 3:20 PM on Wednesday, a 17-year-old girl was walking along Hillcrest Drive near McCain Drive when a man driving a white van approached her. He tried to abduct her, but she managed to get away and call police. The van drove away along McCain Drive.

The suspect is described as a white male, between 5-5 and 5-8, with dark hair and tattoos on his arm.  His vehicle is a white work van with light green lettering between rear wheels and up the sliding doors. It has a roof rack, but no equipment was stored on top.

Patrol officers and detectives conducted a canvass of the area, and a lookout was broadcast to other law enforcement agencies.

Frederick Police say officers will be doing routine patrols in this area following the incident.
