Myersville, Md (KM) Eastbound Interstate 70 near the rest area just east of the Washington County line was closed for about two hours following a single vehicle crash Tuesday morning.
State Police say a tractor trailer ran off the roadway and struck some trees before coming to rest. The driver was trapped for 90-minutes before being rescued and medivaced.
That stretch of eastbound I-70 was closed for about two hours while rescue and recovery operations took place. During that time, traffic was detoured to Route 66, and then to Route 40 . Westbound traffic was unaffected by the Crash, according to State Police
Eastbound I-70 was reopened by 12-noon.
