Founder Of Local Non-Profit Charged With Sex Offense

The incident took place eight years ago, according to police.

 

Frederick, Md (KM) A New Market man who founded a non-profit organization to raise awareness about addiction has been charged with one count of 2nd-degree sex offense. The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says Korey Joseph Shorb, 40, was arrested on Wednesday. He was taken to the Adult Detention Center where he was released on personal recognizance bond.

The arrest was the result of an investigation which began Thursday, September 13th, and involved an incident which took place in Frederick in 2010. The investigation continues.

Shorb founded the Up and Out Foundation where he shares his story of addiction and how he got clean and sober. He’s also the former Executive Director of The Ranch, a rehabilitation center in Frederick.
