Mayor O’Connor Makes Two Appointments

It rounds the hiring he was expected to complete when he took office.

 

Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick Mayor Michael O’Connor has made two appointments to his administration.

Marc DeOcampo has been chosen as Executive Assistant of Administration. He will lead strategic planning citywide, and that includes research on potential legislation. As part of his duties, DeOcampo will oversee the coordination of municipal departments to carry out the city’s mission, according to a news release from City Hall.

“Marc brings an appreciation of and interest in the City’s departmental operations,” says Mayor O’Connor, in a statement.

DeOcampo worked for the City of Frederick’s Planning and Community Development Department from 2004–2007. His experience is in facilities management, land use planning, sustainability and historic preservation. He wills start on October 2nd.

Since 2016, DeOcampo has worked in facilities management at Johns Hopkins University.

The Mayor also picked Danielle Kelllizy as the Administrative Assistant to the Mayor’s Office She will provide constituent services and professional assistance to city executives. She has worked an executive assistant with Barclay’s Capital Investment Banking in Houston, and New York. Kellizy was also manager of New York City’s Department of Corrections animal-assisted programming for Rikers Island’s Division of Youthful Offenders Program.

“As a former member of the Board of Aldermen, I can say that this position will be a big help to meet constituent expectations for meetings, consultations and correspondence,” says O’Connor, in a statement. “It’s important to provide the Board with some administrative assistance.”

The Mayor goes on to say: “It’s gratifying to get the staffing up to a level that I am confident will increase strategic planning, efficiency and overall responsiveness.”
