The region has received a significant amount of rain
Frederick, Md. (DG) – The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Monocacy and Potomac Rivers.
The warning for the Monocacy River is until Saturday afternoon. Minor flooding is forecast. The river is expected to rise to 16-feet. At this level, much of Pinecliff Park and Rivermist Park will flood. Flood water will also approach the Frederick City wastewater treatment plant and the Ballenger Creek wastewater treatment plant.
A flood warning for the Potomac River at Point of Rocks lasts Sunday evening. Minor flooding is expected. The river is expected to rise to 19.4 feet. At 20.0 feet the boat ramp and lower parking lot at Point of Rocks will flood.
