Drunk Driver Hits Police Cruiser

The accident sends 3 to the hospital


Hagerstown, Md. (DG) – A drunk driver Sunday night struck a police cruiser in Washington County and injured three people.

Maryland State Police report that Cpl. Bell was in his cruiser at a construction site on 70 westbound by the Big Pool Road exit. The cruiser’s emergency lights were activated.

At around 9:45 PM, 36-year-old Terrell Hall entered the interstate and struck a yield sign. After hitting the sign, Hall continued to drive his vehicle into the construction zone and struck the cruiser.

Cpl. Bell, Hall, and a passenger in Hall’s vehicle were all transported to Meritus Medical Center.

During their investigation, police learned that Hall was under the influence. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

The accident remains under investigation.
