Frederick Police Department to Honor Richard “Mark” Bremer

He was killed in the line of duty in 2008.

 

FREDERICK, MD.  (LG)    A Memorial Wreath Laying Ceremony will be held on Friday, October 26th, to honor the life of Frederick Police Officer Richard “Mark” Bremer.

“Officer Richard Bremer, we called him Mark, was a wonderful officer, a wonderful co-worker, a wonderful friend, and community member to everyone that he came in contact with,” said Michele Bowman, Public Information Coordinator, Frederick Police Department. “This is the 10th anniversary of his in-the-line of duty death.”

Officer Bremer was killed on October 23, 2008, in an automobile accident while attempting to conduct a traffic stop on a drunk driver who refused to stop on East South Street. “The ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. in the field adjacent to 519 East South Street, in Frederick.  This is the same area where Bremer was killed,” continued Bowman.

Officer Bremer had served with the Frederick Police Department for 5 years and was a graduate of the 46th Academy Class.

“The public is invited to attend.  We want to share his life and memories with everyone.”
