Residents can drop off unused medications at three locations.
Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick County law enforcement agencies will be participating in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day Saturday, October 27th.
There will be drop off areas for residents to safely dispose of their unneeded, unwanted or expired medications at Wegmans parking lot, 7830 Wormans MIll Road, and the State Police Barracks at 110 Airport Drive East. The Natural Resources Police will also have a drop off center at 2011 Monument Road in Myersville.
The hours for the drop offs will be from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Items which will be accepted include prescription and over-the-counter medicines, medical samples, pet medicines, medicated ointments and lotions. Prescriptions can be disposed of in the original containers with the identifying labelsĀ removed.
In addition to Drug Disposal Day, the Frederick County Health Department will hold Syringe Disposal Day in the Wegman’s parking lot from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Residents can get rid of syringes, needles, lancets and auto injectors safely. Last April, more than 3,100 syringes and needles were collected.
