Drug Take Back Day Brings In More than 600 Lbs. Of Drugs

They’re expected to be destroyed by the DEA.

 

Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick Police say 652 pounds of unused and unwanted prescription and over the counter drugs were collected during the recent Drug Take Back Day held at the Wegman’s parking lot on Wormans Mill Road on October 27th. That’s an increase from the Drug Take Back Day in April., where 635 pounds of medications were collected.

The drugs collected last Saturday will be destroyed by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

In addition to the Frederick Police, the County Health Department, the DEA and Whitesell Pharmacy also participated in the recent Drug Take Back Day.

The next Drug Take Back Day is scheduled for April, 2019.
