Three Arrested For Murder In Hagerstown

Two of the suspects are from Frederick.

 

Hagerstown, Md (KM. Charges of 1st-degree murder,  2nd-degree murder and other offenses have been filed against three people in connection with a homicide last week in Hagerstown.

Officer Heather Aleshire, a spokeswoman for Hagerstown Police, says Dewayne Dawkins, 31, and Angelique Booker, were arrested on Sunday at the Econo-Lodge on Francis Scott Key Drive in Frederick. Officers were assisted by the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office in taken these two into custody. Rahim Gibson, 27, was apprehended later that day on North Locust Street in Hagerstown.

“Through investigation, through citizen tips, through witness interviews, through the whole litany of things that came together, and long hours from our detectives, we were able to piece it together and connect these three as suspects,” says Officer Aleshire.

Dawkins and Booker are Frederick residents, and Gibson lives in Hagerstown. All three are being held without bond.

They were arrested for the murder of Cody Brian Lynn, 22, of Hagerstown, who was fatally shot on November 12th. “We responded to the 200 block of North Locust for shots fired. When we arrived, we found the victim, 22-year-old Cody Lynn, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds,” says Aleshire.

Lynn was taken to Meritus Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Officer Aleshire says right now, the motive for this killing remains under investigation. “But I believe it stems from a drug transaction,” she says.
