He was arrested Sunday night.
Frederick, Md (KM) Charges of 2nd-degree rape, 3rd- and 4th-degree sex offenses and solicitation of a minor have been filed against an Emmitsburg man. John Warren Compton, 36, was arrested Sunday night.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says a 12-year-old girl reported in August she was the victim of a sex offense. She told detectives she started talking with a male on Snapchat who claimed he was 14-years-old .when in fact he was 36. The victim says a month later, the man picked her up at her grandmother’s house in Pennsylvania, and drove her to his home in Emmitsburg, .where he performed intercourse on the victim.
Investigators were able take over the girl’s Facebook account and begin a conversation with the suspect. The man agreed to meet with the victim on Sunday, November 25th at Rocky Ridge Municipal Park, and then take her to his home where he would perform sex acts on the girl. \
When he arrived at the park, deputies took Compton into custody. He was transported to the Adult Detention Center.
