Man Dies After Being Hit By Vehicle in Frederick

23-year-old Glen Burnie man died from his injuries


Frederick, Md. (DG) – A 23-year-old Glen Burnie man died after being struck by a vehicle on Route 15 on Monday morning.

Maryland State Police are reporting the accident happened at 11:20 AM when Austin Ray Sexton was standing outside of his box truck by the drivers side door on Route 15 southbound near Rosemont Avenue.

A Toyota 4 Runner, driven by 30-year-old Benjamin McGaha from Hagerstown, hit the box truck and Sexton.

Sexton was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital, and then flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore where he later died from his injuries. McGaha was not injured.

The accident remains under investigation.
