Elderly Woman Dies Following Two-Vehicle Crash

She was a passenger in one of the vehicles.

 

 

Hagerstown, Md (KM) An elderly Clear Spring woman died following a two-vehicle crash in Washington County Monday afternoon.

State Police say June Priest Campbell, 80, was a passenger in a Chevrolet Impala which was traveling along Route 40 at Independence Road when it was struck by a Lincoln Town Car operated by Devon Louis Wade, 41, of Hagerstown. Troopers say Wade was trying to make a left hand turn from Independence Road to Route 40 and failed to yield right of way to the Impala. The impact caused the operator of the Impala, James Arnold Campbell, 86, of Clear Spring, to lose control of the vehicle which struck a stone embankment on the right side of the road.

James Campbell and June Campbell were transported to Meritus Medical Center for their injuries. June Campbell died from her injuries while at Meritus.

The crash site is located between Hagerstown and Clear Spring.
