Train Hits Truck In Ranson, WV

No one was injured


Ranson, WV (DG) – A Washington D.C. to Chicago train hit a truck that got stuck on the tracks in Ranson, West Virginia on Monday.

The accident took place at about 5:35 PM, when a dump truck stalled out on the tracks at Charles Town Road and Luther Jones Road in Jefferson County. The oncoming train just didn’t have time to stop.

The truck driver was able to jump out of the cab just before the train split the vehicle in half. There were no injuries to the 108 passengers and crew members onboard. The crash caused a fuel spill.

The train had resumed its journey at about 9:30 PM.
