Frederick County Begins Process to Set New County Health Priorities

A public informational meeting will take place on January 15, 2019.

FREDERICK, MD.  (LG)   New Health Priorities are on tap for Frederick County. That’s according to Dr. Barbara Brookmyer, with the Frederick County Health Department. She says the County is beginning it’s 4th cycle of local health improvement planning, and a meeting will take place on January 15th, 2019,  to get the public’s input on what health behaviors and circumstances are impacting people’s health and well-being.

“So at the conclusion of our summit, on January 15th, the priorities will have been selected through the process that occurred earlier that day,” said Brookmyer.  “Then individuals who are present at the summit, and also other people who want to join after that, gather in work-groups that are centered around each of those priorities for local health improvement.  And this is an opportunity for anyone and everyone to participate in some way, in determining what can we do and who else can help us make a difference in our community,” she continued.

Participation is free and open to all interested community members and organizations, but registration is required.

It’s taking place at The Arc of Frederick County, located at 555 South Market Street, Frederick, Md.  21701, from 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.  Lunch will be provided.
