The Frederick County Public School Board Releases their Proposed 2018-2019 School Calendar

This schedule includes eight potential snow days.

 

 

Frederick, 12/13/2018    RD      According to the Frederick County Public School Web site, the Board of Education of Frederick County has approved the 2018-2019 academic calendar for Frederick County Public Schools. School will start on Sept. 3, the day after Labor Day, and end on June 22, with eight snow days built in. Schools will be closed on Monday, September 10th and Wednesday, September 19th..

On Friday, October 5, schools will dismiss students two hours early for the first mid-term teacher work session.

In November at the end of the first term, schools will be closed for students on Monday, November 5th for a teacher work day and on Tuesday, November 6th. Parent Teacher Conferences will take place on half days at elementary and middle schools Wednesday, November 7th through Friday, November 9th. Schools will dismiss students two hours early on Wednesday, November 21st and be closed November 22 and 23 for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Schools will dismiss students two hours early Friday, December 14th for a teacher work session and be closed Monday, December 24th, 2018 through Tuesday, January 1st, 2019. On January 21st, Schools close for for Martin Luther King Jr. Day and are closed for students Monday, January 28th, 2019 for a teacher work day.

In February, schools will be closed for Presidents’ Day Monday, February 18th, 2019. On Friday, March 1st, 2019, schools will dismiss students two hours early for a teacher work session.
In 2019, schools will be closed for students Friday, April 5th for a teacher work day, and closed Thursday, April 18th through Monday, April 22nd. On Monday, May 27th, 2019 schools will be closed for Memorial Day.

Other days in 2019 with two-hours early dismissals for teacher work sessions are Friday, May 10th, and the last day of school.
