Flood Warnings for Monocacy and Potomac Rivers

The flood warning for the Potomac River at Point of Rocks is in effect until Tuesday.


Frederick, Md. (DG) – The National Weather Service has issued flood warnings for the Potomac and Monocacy Rivers in Frederick County, Md.

The flood warning for the Potomac River at Point of Rocks is in effect until Tuesday. Moderate flooding is forecast. Flood stage is at 16-feet, and the river is expected to rise to near 23.8 feet by Monday morning.

At 23-feet floodwaters completely cover the comfort station at the Brunswick boat ramp. The upper parking lot at the Point of Rocks boat ramp begins to flood.

The flood warning continues for the Monocacy River until Monday. Minor flooding is forecast.

Flood stage is at 15-feet and the river is expected to rise to near 16.6 feet. At 17-feet significant lowland flooding occurs.
