Frederick, Md (KM) The suspect in the assault of a woman at the Super 8 Motel in Frederick on Wednesday is being sought. Frederick Police say Rendell Markeith Johnson, 24, will be charged with first- and second-degree assault, and offenses related to the unlawful possession of a firearm. He’s also wanted on several open arrest warrants unrelated to this incident..
Authorities were called to the motel at 20 Monocacy Boulevard at 10:01 AM where they met with the victim. She was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The Special Response Team and the Crisis Negotiating Team were dispatched due to reports that the suspect might still in the motel, and was armed. A search of the building by officers came up empty. Authorities believe Johnson had left the motel.
