ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) – Authorities say a man pulled down the pants of a 5-year-old girl and inappropriately touched her while she was in the children’s section of a Maryland library.
Montgomery County Police say 26-year-old Keelan M. Sternklar was charged with third-degree sexual offense and second-degree assault.
A police statement says Sternklar inappropriately touched the girl last Saturday, Dec. 15th, at the Rockville Memorial Library. Police say the girl screamed and ran to her parents, who notified authorities.
Sternklar was spotted Thursday at a coffee shop not far from the library. He was arrested later that day at a homeless shelter, and police say he told detectives he was in the library at the time of the assault.
