Frederick Police Release Name Of Man Found Dead On W. South St.

He’s believed to have been homeless when he died.

 

Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick Police have released the name of the man who was found dead on Wednesday along a sidewalk on West South Street. He is Joseph William Tibbs, age 51.. Authorities say he’s believed to have been homeless at the time of his death. His family has been notified.

Police say the investigation continues into Tibbs’ death. But at this time, it’s believed it’s not the result of foul play or drugs.

On Wednesday, December 26th at around 9:01 AM, fire and rescue crews were dispatched to the 200 block of West South Street for an unresponsive male   later identified as Tibbs.. Emergency medical services workers at the scene pronounced him dead.

As their investigation continues, police are asking anyone who may have information which could help to contact them. They’re asking homeowners who have home surveillance systems, or RING doorbells to provide investigators with some video.
