Storage Building Catches Fire After Being Struck By Truck

Westminster, Md (KM) Damage from a building and vehicle fire in Westminster early Saturday morning is estimated at $50,000 to the structure, and $25,000 to the contents. .

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says fire fighters responded to 1835 LIttlestown Pike shortly before 1:00 AM after a U-Haul truck hit a one-story storage building, 40 fire fighters from the Westminster Volunteer Fire Company spent one-hour bringing the flames under control.

No injuries were reported.

Investigators say the fire originated in the vehicle, but the cause remains under investigation.
