Sabillasville, Md (KM) A Sabillasville man is charged with sex offenses regarding two girls. Joseph Patrick Shea, 70, was taken into custody on Saturday, January 12th. He’s charged with two counts of sex abuse of a minor, 2nd-degree rape, 3rd-degree sex offense, and ten counts of possession of child pornography.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says an investigation was begun in May, 2018, when one of the victim’s mothers contacted authorities. A 12-year-old girl told forensics interviewers that Shea would watch child pornography and display explicit sexual behaviors in front of her. She described the pornography as “teen and adult,” according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.
He’s also alleged to have done the same thing to another victim, a 13-year-old girl. That second victim also told investigators of an incident where she woke up and Shea was having sexual intercourse with her.
Both victims were nine and 11 at the time of the incidents..
The Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant on Shea’s home in July, 2018, where computers were seized. Investigators say an examination of the computers confirmed the presence of pornography, including child pornography.
