Stretch Of Old Taneytown Rd In Carroll County To Be Closed This Week

SHA says it will be replacing a drainage pipe.

Taneytown, Md (KM) The Maryland State Highway Administration says a section of Old Taneytown Road–or Md. 832– west of South Pleasant Valley Road will be closed on Thursday, January 17th starting at 7:00 AM. Officials say a damaged drainage pipe under the road needs to be replaced as soon as possible.

A detour will be set up. Traffic will be diverted to South Pleasant Valley Road, Md. 140 and Tyrone Road. A flagger will be posted at the intersection of Md. 832 and Tyrone Road to guide traffic through.

SHA says it expects the work to be completed on Thursday. But if it needs to be extended in Friday, January 18th, crews will install steel plates to allow traffic to pass through that section of Old Taneytown Road during the overnight hours.
