The School System cites the snow in the forecast.
The Frederick County Public System has canceled all after-school and evening activities due to the impending snow.
In a news release, FCPS says daycare centers in local public schools will make their decisions about their scheduled, and will notify the principals and the families that they serve.
Also, School-based parks and recreation programs in school gyms will make their own decisions about whether to stay open or close.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory beginning at 4:00 PM on Thursday, and continuing until 4:00 AM on Friday. About one to two inches of snow are forecast.
