There are an estimated 4,000 federal workers who live in Frederick County.

Frederick, Md (KM) There’s help for federal workers who live in Frederick County and are affected by the partial government shutdown. The County Government has a new website containing information about where to find assistance for food, medical and health care, payments for utilities, employment and financial relief.

The web address is www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/FederalFurlough

“An estimated 4,000 Frederick County residents have been furloughed by the federal government’s partial shutdown. I know is causing great stress for many families in our community,” says County Executive Jan Gardner, in a statement. “Fortunately, we are blessed to live in a county that truly comes together to care for our neighbors in need. Resources are available to help during this difficult time. If you or someone you know is struggling as a result of the shutdown, the information on the county website may help until the federal government is fully reopened.”

Officials say the resource list will be updated as new information becomes available
