Fatal Crash Near Damascus Remains Under Investigation

Police have released the name of the deceased.

 

Damascus, Md (KM) Montgomery County Police continue to investigate a fatal two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in the Damascus area.

Authorities say a Toyota Corolla operated by Wesley Delimon Tibbs III, 32,  of the 4700 block of Hardwood Court in Mount Airy, was traveling northbound along Ridge Road, while a Toyota Avalon was traveling southbound. For unknown reasons, the two vehicles collided in the 28,000 block of Ridge Road north of Kemptown Road. Tibbs was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger in his car identified as Anna Victoria Young, 24, of Mount Airy, was transported to a hospital Officers say her injuries are life-threatening, but she is expected to live.

Young has the same address in Mount Airy as Tibbs, according to police.

The driver of the Avalon, Khary Hiram Tolliver, 46, of Hagerstown, was take to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
