FCPS Wants to Hear From Parents

Perceptual survey is also underway with staff members.

FREDERICK, MD. (LG) Feedback is needed from parents who have students who attend Frederick County Public Schools. Communications Services Director Michael Doerrer says the perceptual survey will ask for answers to many different questions. “We ask questions about how schools communicate with parents, we ask questions about school safety and climate, we ask about teacher and administrator engagement with parents and community members,” said Doerrer.

In the survey, there are questions for parents, students and staff to respond to. “It’s obviously because they each have a little different perspective. We want to gather all perspectives and put that together into one overall picture of how well our schools are doing for our students, parents and our staff,” he continued.

The survey was launched on January 24th and can be accessed through Friday, February 22, 2019. The survey is online, and each school is providing parents a letter with a school-specific link for taking the survey. Schools also have paper copies in English and Spanish. Parents with questions should contact their child’s school.
