Fire Displaces Carroll County Family

The family was able to escape the fire that started on the front porch.

Westminster, Md. (DG) – Improperly discarded smoking materials sparked a fire in Carroll County on Sunday afternoon.

Carroll County Firefighters responded to 17 John Street in Westminster shortly before 2 PM for a house fire.

The family was able to escape the fire that started on the front porch.

It took 40-firefighters fifteen minutes to control the blaze. Damage is estimated at $80,000.

The family was displaced and is being assisted by other family members.
