Suspect In 2017 Public Storage Break-In Not Being Charged At This Time

The case remains open  and under investigation

Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick Police say the original suspect in the burglary of the Public Storage Facility on Prospect Street in October, 2017 is not being charged at this time.

Last month, authorities said Dakevis Maryland was being charged with a long list of offenses in connection with that break-in.. But investigators now say after consultation with the State’s Attorney’s Office, the case is being held open for further investigation, and Maryland is not being charged at this time.

On October 28th, 2017, at around 9:30 AM, officers responded to the business at 396 Prospect Boulevard for a report of a burglary. Authorities say 250 storage units were broken into. Of those entered, 58 victims told police that items were stolen. The total value of the stolen property  was more than $88,000.
