Traffic Stop Ends In Arrest of 3 Men

Frederick, Md (DG) – An early morning traffic stop on Valentine’s Day put three men from Leesburg behind bars by Maryland State Police.

A vehicle driven by 23-year-old Trung Tan Huynh was stopped on 340 westbound after Mount Zion Road early Thursday morning. When the trooper was talking to the Huynh, he smelled marijuana coming from inside of the vehicle.

The car was search and police found over 2 1/2 pounds of marijuana. Huynh was placed under arrest. The two passengers in the vehicle, 18-year-old Garrett Pearson and 22-year-old Gabe Thomas, were also taken into custody. All three were arrested for possessing marijuana with the intent to distribute. They were taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for processing.

After further search by police, two small baggies containing suspected MDMA that belonged to Huynh were found.
