Thurmont, Md. (DG) – A 14-year-old boy was arrested after assaulting another teenager.
Thurmont Police say it happened Saturday before 5 PM at Eyler Park. The 17-year-old victim told officers the 14-year-old hit him several times with a golf club, then sent him a video recording of the assault in an attempt to stop him from contacting police.
Authorities did not learn about the crime until Monday.
The 14-year-old was taken into custody and charged with first and second degree assault, robbery, and reckless endangerment.
The 14-year-old is being held by the Department of Juvenile Justice at a juvenile facility pending a court hearing.
