Wolfsville/Smithsburg, Md (KM) The Frederick County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of a house fire early Wednesday morning in the Wolfsville and Smithsburg areas.

Fire fighters were dispatched to the 14, 400 block of Ridenour Road shortly before at 3:20 AM, and found a single family home fully involved in flames. A tanker task force was put together to bring water to the scene.

Officials say 20 fire fighters spent 25-minutes bringing the flames under control. No one was injured.

Damage is estimated at $75,000, but the house and its contents are considered a total loss.

Fire officials say the owner of the house arrived at the scene, and said the home had been vacant for some time.

Potomac Edison was also dispatched due downed power lines which had provided electric service to the home.
