Video Helps Police Identify, Arrest Two Suspects In Violent Assault

The victim was shown on the video being kicked in the head while lying on a sidewalk.

 

Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick Police were able to arrest two suspects in a violent assault after receiving an anonymous video through Facebook Messenger.

Authorities say early Friday morning, March 15th, an off-duty officer driving home came upon an unconscious man lying alongside North Court Street, and called for an ambulance to respond. The man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

On Sunday, March 17th, police say they received the video which showed the victim being kicked and punched in the head while lying on the sidewalk. They were able to identity the assailant as Lavander Rakheem Disney, 27, of Frederick from the video. He’s charged with 1st-degree assault, 2nd-degree assault, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, theft under $100 and reckless endangerment. .

A second suspect was also identified. He’s Kenyatta Dewayne Weedon, 26, of Baltimore, whose charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, theft under $100 and reckless endangerment. .

Both men were taken into custody.

Frederick Police say they want to thank the person who sent the video which enabled them to quickly apprehend the two suspects.
