One man is dead
UPDATE:
Thurmont, Md. (DG)- The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left one man dead in Thurmont.
Taylor Clarke, spokeswoman with the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, said deputies responded to a residence on Sandy Spring Lane around 1:30 AM for a home invasion burglary.
While dispatchers were on the phone, they were informed there was a man outside with a gun..
Witnesses report hearing police say ‘drop the gun’ and then the sounds of gun shots.
A man was shot and killed by police.
No law enforcement officers were injured.

The shooting happened early this morning on Sandy Spring Lane.
Police say they were responding to a report of a person outside with a gun.
That person was shot and killed by police.
Authorities say there is no danger to the public.
