House Near Thurmont Destroyed By Fire

Two people were displaced.

 

 

Thurmont, Md (KM) The Frederick County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of a house fire north of Thurmont on Wednesday afternoon.

Fire and Rescue officials say fire fighters were dispatched shortly before 2:00 PM to the 14,000 block of North Franklinville Road, and found flames shooting through the roof. A tanker task force and a rapid intervention task force were dispatched to the scene. Fire fighters from Frederick, Washington and Carroll Counties in Maryland, along with personnel from Franklin and Adams Counties in Pennsylvania were sent to fight the fire. .

It took fire fighters 90-minutes to put out the flames. Two adults who lived in the house were displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross.

No damage estimate has been determined, according to the Fire Marshal’s Office.
