Frederick, Md (FNP) The founder of a Frederick addiction recovery center was found not guilty of 2nd-degree sex offense. The News-Post reports that jury reached that decision on Wednesday evening following the trial of Korey Shorb, 41, of New Market. .
After the jury reached its decision, Judge Ed Dwyer declared a mistrial on the 3rd-degree sex offense against Shorb. The jury was split on that offenses.
Shorb had been on trial since Tuesday for performing sex acts on another man while he was asleep and Shorb was awake. Shorb denied the allegations, saying the man was awake at the time, and actively participating. He also called the allegations against him disgusting. .
Shorb is the founder of the Up and Out Foundation, a local addiction recovery organization.
The allegations occurred in 2010, but weren’t reported to the Sheriff’s Office in September of last year.
