Officials: Fuel Spill In Brunswick Tues. Morning ‘No Cause For Concern’ For The Public

They say there was minimal exposure into the Potomac River.

 

Brunswick, Md (KM) Frederick County fire and rescue units were dispatched to 25 East Potomac Street in Brunswick Tuesday morning for a fuel spill. Officials say hydraulic fuel leaked into a storm drain, with minimal exposure into the Potomac River.

Personnel worked for the an hour and a half to contain the spill.  Units from Brunswick, Hazardous Incident  Response Team 33 from Spring Ridge, and Boats  2 and 14 were dispatched to help with the containment.

The Maryland Department of the Environment was on the scene, and Frederick County and Brunswick water officials were notified. Emergency officials say there was no cause for concern to the public.
