Maryland State Police spokesman Ron Snyder says the victim, identified as Heather Williams, 24, was reported missing on Wednesday night at 8:30 when she did not arrive at her relatives’ home as expected. Family members went  to her residence in the 4500 block of Jefferson Pike. “And they also noticed at the time that her vehicle–a 2017 Ford Fiesta–was not at her residence which was located in the 4500 block of Jefferson Pike. Eventually, relatives went inside and found the victim deceased inside the residence,” says Snyder.

Williams body was taken to the State Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

The suspect in the case, identified as Christopher Myers, 39, of Jefferson, was arrested Wednesday. “The suspect who shared a residence with the victim, he was arrested by Baltimore City Police at about six-o’clock last night {Wednesday} for unrelated traffic and drug violations,:” says Snyder.

He says when Myers was arrested, he was driving Williams’ vehicle.

Myers has been charged with 1st-degree murder, 2nd-degree murder and 1st-degree assault. Those charges followed a consultation between the State Police and the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office. State’s Attorney Charlie Smith says his office will probably seek an indictment against Myers for the slaying of Williams.

The Maryland State Police did not describe any injuries Williams sustained, but Smith called it a “bludgeoning death.”
