Murder Suspect Held Without Bail

Chris Myers waived his right to a bond hearing.

 

 

Frederick, Md (KM) A Jefferson man who is charged with the murder of his live-in girlfriend is being held without bond. The State’s Attorney’s Office says Chris Lee Myers, 39, waived his right to a bond review hearing in District Court on Friday afternoon. .

Myers is charged with1st-degree murder, 2nd-degree murder and 1st-degree assault for the murder of Heather Williams, 24, of Jefferson. The two lived together in a trailer park in Jefferson.

Maryland State Police say Williams’  family reported her missing on Wednesday evening at 8:30 because she did not arrive at a relative’s house  as scheduled. They went to her home in the 4500 block of Jefferson Pike, and noticed her vehicle was not there. The relatives entered the home and found Williams deceased.

Her body was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

Myers was apprehended in Baltimore at around 6:00 Pm On Wednesday  after being stopped along Frederick Road for an unrelated traffic violation. The Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office says Myers was driving Williams’  vehicle at the time of the arrest.

Police obtained a search warrant and discovered several items inside  containing blood stains. Myers was taken into custody

State Troopers interviewed the arresting officer, who told them Myers appeared to be very nervous at the time of the traffic stop.

They also attempted to interview Myers at the Baltimore City Detention Center. After being advised of his Miranda rights of remaining silent and to  have an attorney present during questioning, the interviewing stopped.

The investigation into this homicide is continuing, and authorities are asking anyone who may have information that they believe could help to contact the State’s Attorney’s Office or the Maryland State Police.
