The meeting is being held in light of the recent events involving a Frederick doctor charged with sexual abuse.
FREDERICK, MD. The Frederick Police Department and Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office will be hosting a Community Conversation titled: Having Uncomfortable Conversations With Your Children.
This presentation will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, from 7-9 pm at the Frederick Police Department Training Facility, 6424 Plant Road, Frederick, MD. This Community Conversation, geared for parents will feature Robin Gove, Director of the Child Advocacy Center, Kristen Dunn, Forensic Interviewer with the Department of Social Services, and Suzy Boisclair Supervisor of the Frederick Police Department’s Victim Services Unit as guest speakers. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.
“We realize that topics such as body boundaries and sexual assault may be uncomfortable for parents to discuss with their children”, said Michele Bowman, Public Information Coordinator for the Frederick Police Department. “Our hope in having this presentation is to provide parents and caregivers the tools they need to open those lines of communication”.
This presentation is free and open to the public.
