An investigation into his death is underway.
Hagerstown, Md (KM) The death of an inmate at the Maryland Correctional Training Center near Hagerstown is under investigation.
State Police say Ronnie Harris, 56, was found unresponsive Wednesday night in a housing tier in the facility. He was suffering from a head wound. Harris was medivaced to Georgetown University Hospital where he died at around 4:00 PM on Thursday.
His body was transported to the Washington DC Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy to determine the cause and manor of death.
The State Police Homicide Unit and the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services are conducting the investigation into Harris’ death.
A Department of Public Safety and Corrections official says Harris was serving an 80-year sentence for armed robbery and deadly weapons offenses coming from Prince George’s County.
